However, having Martin here at the condo this weekend meant that I could finally get the muscle and handiness I needed to take on this venture.
I knew I wanted a very light lavender for the room, which would compliment the dark grey dining room and kitchen walls. After consulting with Martin, we settled on the color "dusky lilac" by Olympic Paint and immediately started to paint. It was definitely hard work but I luckily had my side kick helping me; if it wasn't for him, I would not have had the energy to do a second coat...
We ended up painting the frame for the large mirror white, to go better with the lilac walls. We will eventually re-paint the coffee table and TV stand white as well.
We also re arranged the furniture and added new window treatments.
Overall, I am happy with how the room turned out. The walls were more purple than I had wanted but it has grown on me. The room now feels very vibrant and girly. The next project, besides repainting the tables and stands, will be redoing the floors! But unfortunately, that project will have to wait until I either win the lottery or I find a large sum of cash lying around. Until then, we will have to settle with the grey carpet.
