Beach Bums

It's been a while since I've been able to visit the kids and take them on some sort of "adventure". Being away from my nieces and nephews has been very hard on me. School and studying has prevented me from coming home, not to mention the 300 miles that separate us. Thankfully, I was able to make it home this past weekend and spend my entire Saturday with them!

Although it was predicted to be a rainy weekend, I was determined to take the children to Siesta Key. Mostly because I know the kids love the beach, but partly because I wanted to work on my amateur photography skills, and I've been dying to do some beach photography!

Pulling into the packed parking lot, I was nervous that we wouldn't be able to find a spot. But then, it was as if God truly wanted us to be there, because a parking spot magically appeared out of no where! And, the spot was the closest row possible to the beach, which truly is a Godsend for someone traveling with three small children.

As we walked towards the water, the boys wanted to be let down so they could walk and feel the soft white sand beneath their feet. Although that delayed us from arriving to our spot on the beach by 10-15 minutes (their small legs can only go so fast...) it was worth it to see them react to their new surroundings.

So happy!

After we got settled, Kaylie and I went to play in the sand dunes, but came back soon after because Henry was anxious to get into the water.

Henry and Kaylie loved playing in the wet sand! Henry was really fascinated with the tide coming in and out. Unfortunately, Hayden was teething and thus, was unable to get excited about being in the water.

Really not feelin it...

Because Hayden was crying so much we had to retreat back to our spot far away from the water. However, Henry and Kaylie were more than happy to play with the sand and bucket.

Alas, it was time to head home, but not before I changed the kids into their last outfits! Overall this beach date with the kids was worth all the trouble. I think they had a great time, or at least Kaylie and Henry did. Thanks to my assistant Karen for helping me take care of them. I would not have been able to take these photos without her help. Until next time!
